I CAN'T RECORD BY PHONE?

Yodio has discontinued its
record-by-phone feature.

You may continue to UPLOAD recordings to your Yodio account and use Yodio as usual.

How can I create a recording to upload to Yodio?

You can upload audio files into your Yodio account - .mp3 or .wav.

  • MICROPHONE to PC - To record, you need a microphone of some type... either stand alone, or a headset (similar to that used for gaming or Skype.)
    •
    • If your computer has a built-in program to record and save as .mp3 or .wav, use that.
Audacity: Free Sound Editor and Recording Software Record using "Audacity", the free audio recording software that creates high quality recordings http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ Export your audio using File> "Export as .mp3" and save to your computer. Then upload it to your Yodio account.

    • Or, you can use a free online service like
http://vocaroo.com/ Record and save to your computer.
  • SMARTPHONE If you don't have a microphone, do you have a SMARTPHONE? Record via the app and use the "SHARE" feature to email it to yourself. Save to your computer and upload to your Yodio account.

    • Android: Download the free app, "Smart MP3 Recorder". Click here to have it sent to your phone, or search "Smart MP3 Recorder" from the Google app store.

    • iPhone: Download free app, "MP3 Recorder-Free"
Click here to access it from the App Store, or search "MP3 Recorder - Free" from your iPhone/iPad
Audacity: Free Sound Editor and Recording Software
  • LAPTOP If you do not have a smart phone, do you have a laptop? Try recording to your laptop using its built-in recorder.  If your laptop has a program to record audio and save to your computer, use that. If not, use "Audacity", the free audio recording software that creates high quality recordings. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

No laptop? Try purchasing a microphone or headset for your PC (heck, you might use it for Skype someday) at Amazon.
Need it today? Run to Walmart

I CANNOT DRAG AND DROP!

Recent browser updates have kicked our drag-and-drop widget in the shin. Try Chrome. Perhaps Firefox... but you will most likely have better luck with Chrome.

DO NOT USE INTERNET EXPLORER TO USE YODIO

I CANNOT SEE THE LOGIN BOX!

IT SAYS MY EMAIL ADDRESS HASN'T BEEN VERIFIED

When you create an account, Yodio send you an email to make sure it was "you" that provided your email address. It sends a verification email immediately upon creating an account and requires you to click on the link in the email to confirm you're the owner of that email account.

You cannot sign into Yodio without this step. If you didn't receive the email, you can try to sign in and when the "account has not been verified" message appears, choose "RESEND email verification email.
However, chances are, the email has gone into your junk mail folder. THIS IS COMMON. Please check that before you ask for help. yodioinfo@yodio.com
